Good fit for
This chair suits gamers who want an all-in-one audio and seating solution without external speakers. It fits well in smaller spaces due to its foldable design and standard footprint. The integrated sound system is ideal for users who prefer a clean setup with no cable clutter from audio devices. It is also a good choice for families with children aged 5 to 17, as the size and durability support growing users. The rocking and reclining features benefit those who need ergonomic adjustments during long play sessions.
Who can skip it
You should look elsewhere if you need a chair for adults over 17, as the standard size is rated for 5-17 year olds. The bonded faux leather may not appeal to those preferring breathable fabric or genuine leather materials. If you require a remote control for volume or input switching, this model lacks that feature, relying on device controls instead. Users needing significant height adjustment beyond the rocking mechanism will find the fixed 20.9-inch height limiting. Additionally, those with TVs lacking standard audio outputs may need to purchase a separate digital transmitter.
Verdict
The X-Rocker Surge offers a convenient, audio-integrated seating option for younger gamers in compact spaces. Its built-in sound system and foldable design make it a practical choice for easy setup and storage.
Key specs explained for this chair
Connectivity: Wireless Bluetooth
You can stream audio from your phone, console, or PC without tangled cords. This wireless link removes latency, keeping sound synced with on-screen action. It works with most smart devices. If your TV lacks Bluetooth, you may need a separate digital transmitter. This feature offers flexibility for different gaming setups and reduces cable clutter around your play area.
Built-in Speakers: 2 headrest mounted speakers and a huge backrest subwoofer
The chair creates surround sound directly around your head. You hear directional audio cues clearly, which helps in competitive gaming. The subwoofer adds bass impact for movies and games. This integrated system means you do not need external speakers. It delivers an immersive experience that standard headphones or basic chair speakers cannot match for spatial awareness.
Upholstery Material: Bonded faux leather and mesh
Bonded faux leather offers a sleek, durable surface that is easy to wipe clean. Mesh sections likely improve airflow to keep you cool during long sessions. This combination balances comfort with practicality for sweaty gaming marathons. It is more affordable than genuine leather but still looks premium. Check if mesh placement aligns with your comfort preferences for back support.
Dimensions: 36.8 inches length, 32.3 inches width, 20.9 inches height
These open dimensions indicate a substantial floor rocker footprint. You need adequate floor space to rock and recline safely. The height suits most teens and adults. Compact storage is possible when folded, as noted in the features. Measure your room to ensure the chair fits comfortably without blocking pathways or other furniture in your gaming zone.
Weight: 36.2 pounds
This weight provides stability so the chair does not slide easily during vigorous rocking. It is heavy enough to stay grounded but manageable for moving it to a storage closet. The substantial build supports the internal sound system and padding. Consider this weight if you plan to move the chair frequently. It suggests a durable construction that withstands regular use.
Design and build details
The listing describes the upholstery as bonded faux leather and mesh. This material choice aims to provide a sleek look while offering durability for long gaming sessions. The black finish with red accents gives it a distinct visual style. You get extra padding on the seat and headrest, which the listing says is designed to withstand high-performance use. This padding supports both adults and teens during extended play or movie marathons.
In terms of physical dimensions, the chair measures 36.8 inches in length, 32.3 inches in width, and 20.9 inches in height. It weighs 36.2 pounds. These open dimensions indicate a substantial footprint that fits well in smaller spaces but requires adequate floor area. The listing notes that the chair folds down for storage. This feature allows you to easily carry and store the unit when it is not in use, making it suitable for rooms where space is at a premium.
The rocking and reclining mechanisms are built into the frame. According to the listing, these features let you adjust your position for comfort. The layout integrates two headrest-mounted speakers and a backrest subwoofer directly into the structure. You do not need external stands or mounts. This all-in-one design keeps the audio system secure and aligned with your hearing position, ensuring the surround sound remains immersive without noticeable latency during gameplay.
Setup and everyday use guide
Setting up the X-Rocker Surge involves assembling a compact floor rocker that folds down for storage. The listing notes it is easy to assemble, which suggests you can get it ready for use without complex tools or extended labor. Once built, the chair measures 36.8 inches in length, 32.3 inches in width, and 20.9 inches in height. It weighs 36.2 pounds, so you should have enough strength to move it when needed. The open dimensions make it suitable for smaller spaces, allowing you to tuck it away when not in play.
For daily use, you can connect the chair via wireless Bluetooth or a wired option. This dual connectivity means you can link it to gaming consoles like the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, as well as PCs and smart devices. The built-in sound system includes two headrest-mounted speakers and a large backrest subwoofer. This setup delivers surround sound with no noticeable latency, keeping audio synced with your gameplay. The chair rocks and reclines, allowing you to adjust your position for extended sessions. The extra-padded vegan leather seat and headrest are designed for durability. You can use it for gaming or home theater viewing. If your TV outputs do not support direct Bluetooth, you may need an additional digital audio transmitter, which is sold separately.
Before You Buy This Floor Rocker
You should verify your audio source compatibility before purchasing. This chair connects via wireless Bluetooth to consoles like PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, as well as PCs and smart devices. If you plan to use it with a television, check whether your TV supports Bluetooth audio. Many older models do not, which may require you to buy an additional digital audio transmitter sold separately. This extra step ensures you avoid latency issues during gameplay.
Upkeep is straightforward. The bonded faux leather and mesh upholstery allows for simple wiping with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals to preserve the material’s integrity. Keep the chair away from direct sunlight to prevent fading of the black and red accents. This floor rocker fits well alongside other gaming gear if you prioritize immersive sound and space-saving design. Its compact, foldable nature makes it ideal for smaller rooms or shared spaces, offering a practical alternative to bulky traditional gaming chairs.
