How to choose the right one
Check the layout size
Your desk space determines the best layout. The Logitech G915 X Wired Full-Size offers a complete 18.7-inch footprint for users who need number pads and extra keys. If you prefer a compact setup, the Logitech G PRO X TKL Rapid Wired Keyboard measures 14.1 inches in length. A tenkeyless design saves desk room and allows more mouse movement. Measure your available space before deciding. A full-size board requires more depth, while a TKL model fits smaller desks more easily.
Evaluate switch technology
Switch type changes how the keyboard feels and responds. The Logitech G915 X Wired Full-Size uses tactile mechanical switches, providing a physical bump you can feel with every press. This suits typists and gamers who want clear feedback. The Logitech G PRO X TKL Rapid Wired Keyboard uses Hall Effect switches. These magnetic sensors detect keypresses without physical contact, enabling rapid trigger features. Choose tactile switches for a traditional feel, or Hall Effect for precise, adjustable actuation in fast-paced games.
Consider keycap durability
Keycap material affects longevity and texture. The Logitech G915 X Wired Full-Size features PBT keycaps, which are known for being durable and resistant to shine over time. PBT plastic feels slightly rougher and more textured than ABS, offering better grip for your fingers. This material choice ensures the keyboard maintains its look and feel after heavy use. If you type or game for many hours daily, PBT keycaps provide a more reliable surface that resists wear and oil buildup from your hands.
Assess profile height
Keyboard height impacts wrist position and typing comfort. The Logitech G915 X Wired Full-Size has a slim 0.89-inch height, classifying it as a low-profile design. This reduced thickness allows your hands to rest flatter on the desk, which may reduce wrist strain during long sessions. The Logitech G PRO X TKL Rapid Wired Keyboard stands taller at 1.5 inches. If you prefer a traditional typing angle, the higher profile might feel more natural. Consider your desk chair height and personal comfort when comparing these dimensions.
Review lighting features
RGB lighting adds visual customization to your setup. Both the Logitech G915 X Wired Full-Size and the Logitech G PRO X TKL Rapid Wired Keyboard support RGB lighting. This feature allows you to choose specific colors for each key or create dynamic effects. RGB illumination helps you locate keys in low-light environments. While lighting does not affect performance, it enhances the aesthetic of your gaming area. Check if the included software lets you customize patterns and brightness levels to match your preference.
